For many people, Scripture has become something tense — a source of anxiety, debate, or self-doubt rather than wisdom and encounter with God. My work exists to change that.
I help Christians approach the Bible as it was actually written — as an ancient collection of stories, poems, letters, and wisdom shaped by culture, language, and lived experience.
I hold a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies with a specialization in the Old Testament, and I've spent 14+ years studying and teaching Scripture through historical context, ancient culture, and literary design — including Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and comparative ancient Near Eastern literature.
When we learn how to read an ancient text, confusion isn't a failure. It's part of the process. And real confidence becomes possible.
Most Bible teaching focuses on answers. My work focuses on learning how to read — building discernment, not dependency.
Anxiety has to leave before anything else can enter. Every course is designed to create space where questions are welcome from the start.
Questions aren't threats — they're the doorway into every biblical text. Curiosity is a feature to be cultivated, not a liability to suppress.
Scripture was written to ancient people, in ancient languages, within specific cultures. Understanding that world doesn't weaken the text — it opens it.
The goal is real confidence rooted in understanding. Readers who know how to think are far more resilient than those who only know what to think.

I didn't grow up hostile to faith — but I did grow up asking questions that didn't seem to have space to breathe. I was raised in a Christian tradition, but by my late teens I had drifted away. Not out of rebellion, but confusion. The way Scripture was often presented felt brittle: confident answers without room for honest uncertainty.
Over time I stepped back from faith altogether. Years later, while serving in the U.S. Navy and later training in healthcare, I found myself drawn back — not through pressure or emotion, but through careful study.
I encountered Scripture not as a set of arguments to win, but as an ancient library shaped by culture, language, and lived experience. That discovery changed everything. We often ask modern questions of ancient texts — and then feel anxious when the answers don't come easily.
As my studies deepened, I began to see how much clarity emerges when we slow down, honor context, and resist the urge to force certainty where patience is required. That realization led me into formal biblical studies, and in time, into teaching. This work grew out of that journey.
Outside of teaching, I'm a husband and father of five boys. My life is rooted in faith, family, and the ongoing work of learning how to live wisely and humbly.
I believe Scripture still speaks with power today — but only when we approach it with patience, honesty, and respect for the world it came from. I believe faith grows when we learn how to ask better questions.
