Welcome to the Torah PortionĀ Toldot. In this post, we will cover the weekly Torah portion and weekly Haftarah portion from a cultural perspective. Now these are the genealogies of Isaac, Abrahamā€™s son. Abraham fathered Isaac. Isaac was 40 years old when he took for himself Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean, to be his wife. Isaac prayed to YHWH on behalf of his wife because she was barren. YHWH answered his plea and his wife Rebekah became pregnant.
