Isaiah 49:14 - 51:3

Welcome to the Torah PortionĀ Ekev. In this post, we will cover the weekly Torah portion and weekly Haftarah portion from a cultural perspective. There is also an Echoes Through Scripture teaching which takes a theme from the Torah portion and connects it throughout the rest of the Hebrew Bible and into the Apostolic Scriptures.

ā€œAnd because you listen to these rules and keep and do them, YHWH your God will keep with you the covenant and the steadfast love that he swore to your fathers. He will love you, bless you, and multiply you. He will also bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your wine and your oil, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock, in the land that he swore to your fathers to give you. You shall be blessed above all peoples.

Great teaching Ryan!!! To me, this Torah portion is tied to the Book of Ruth. Naomi brought Ruth back to her home knowing that she was a “pig”, a Moabite. Naomi was persecuted for bringing a stranger home with her! No one asked Naomi if Ruth had dedicated her life to the Elohim of Israel!! Then came Boaz! He was a man of justice! He watch how Ruth gleamed the fields to supply food for Naomi. He watched how Ruth was a women of faith!!
God told the Israelite’s who to destroy! It’s not our choice, but His!!
    Hope this makes sense!!!

Blessings to you and your family!!! Shabbat Shalom!!!
