1 Kings 2:1-12

Welcome to the Torah Portion Vaychi. In this post, we will cover the weekly Torah portion and weekly Haftarah portion from a cultural perspective. There is also an Echoes Through Scripture teaching which takes a theme from the Torah portion and connects it throughout the rest of the Hebrew Bible and into the Apostolic Scriptures.

Now Jacob lived in the land of Egypt for 17 years, so the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were 147 years. As the time of Israel’s death drew near, he called for his son Joseph and said to him, “If I have found favor in your eyes, please put your hand under my thigh and show me faithful kindness. Please do not bury me in Egypt. When I lie down with my fathers, you must carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burial place.”

    Ryan-Thank you for your dedication/perseverance!
Do you have an opinion of Alfred Edersheim’s writings, and would you share it? I’m presently reading The Temple, It’s Ministry and Services At the Time of Jesus Christ.

He’s a good place to start. Realize that he wrote his books many years ago and we have a lot more evidence uncovered since then

I’ve seen many times ‘new archeological finding’ is later retracted….maybe a little distrustful of ‘new’ sources.
Do you or have you considered selling a series for download (such as Honor in Marriage) where it could be shared with a spouse? 🙂 and not upgrade membership.

And thanks for making Marriage series personal but also scriptural. So blessed by this.

Awesome, thank you. Did not see. Will take some time to browse with glasses on. No criticism from me-only by His power must you be holding all of this together with family, job and teaching. Shalom.
