Matthew 3 - 4

matt-3-4-in-the-wilderness

The Messianic Gospel Cycle is a series studying the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts from a Messiah-centered perspective. The cycle is divided up into 52 portions and is designed to be read over the course of a year. You can download the reading plan here.

In those days, John the Baptist came proclaiming in the wilderness of Judea, ā€œTurn away from your sins, for the kingdom of heaven is near!ā€ For he is the one Isaiah the prophet spoke about, saying, ā€œThe voice of one crying in the wilderness, ā€˜Prepare the way of the Lord, and make His paths straight.ā€™

Thank you Ryan for doing this series. New perspectives are always needed and having been many years spent with ‘only’ the Brit haDeshah …one thinks one knows!! Surprise!! the ‘new’ thought of Israel in exile because of sin/iniquity to this day is just a light bulb moment. Of course there was no exile in the days of Joshua…and from those actual days of physical exile, His people looked for Messiah. Well the diaspora is still us!!And He will regather and the good news is having a new hearing in the ears of His people. Oh that day when all iniquity is cleaned out of us….thanks again!!
