Psalms 9-10: Psalms as Torah
Welcome to the series where we will be investigating each psalm in light of the Torah, honor and shame, justice & righteousness, and analyzing the genre of each psalm and its relationship to the surrounding psalms. I would challenge each of you to read the psalms which will be covered for yourself prior to watching the teaching and reflect upon how each functions as a form of worship to YHWH. Psalms 9 and 10 are separated in the Masoretic text (and our English Bibles), but are found as one Psalm in the Septuagint. This is because together they form an acrostic and there are many parallels between the two. Thus, we will investigate these two psalms at the same time!
I will give thanks to YHWH with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, they stumble and perish before your presence. For you have maintained my just cause; you have sat on the throne, giving righteous judgment.
