Revelation and the Plague of Locust

Does Revelation predict a future plague of drones? Some would have us believe so. In this teaching, we will discuss Revelation 9's plague of locust and use it as a basis for a bigger discussion about whether or not it is appropriate to attempt to interpret Revelation "literally". We will also discuss alternative means of interpretation and whether or not those are actually taking the Scriptures seriously.

Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth...In appearance the locusts were like horses prepared for battle: on their heads were what looked like crowns of gold; their faces were like human faces, their hair like women’s hair, and their teeth like lions’ teeth; they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the noise of their wings was like the noise of many chariots with horses rushing into battle. They have tails and stings like scorpions, and their power to hurt people for five months is in their tails.

Thanks for this “revelation” in the way I read my Bible! Never thought of it this way!

Appreciate the serious teaching parts of this recording. To learn how the people of John’s times might have understood it was very helpful in how I can apply in my life.
    Thank you for sharing.
May our Heavenly Father bless you and your family.

Ryan, I am really enjoying your perspectives on The Revelation study (as well as your conversation with Dinah Dye on Revelation Unmasked). I pray you continue going through Revelation, because it truly is beneficial, appreciated and edifying. I am interested to know your take on the New Jerusalem and more of the meanings behind the symbology. You may explain it in the Revelation Unmasked, I am only on the 4th episode. May HaShem continue blessing you and your family. Thank you for all of your incredible work on revealing the truth of HaShem’s word. (P.S: I know you are EXTREMELY busy, but if you were able to write a Revelation Commentary, I would definitely purchase it).

i am very much enjoying this perspective. i feel like this is the type of revelation teaching ive been waiting for since i started my biblical studies. i look forward to hearing about your thoughts on the end times and the resurrection. should we expect a similar pattern even if revelation was for the time it was written?

It’s hard for some of us to get past the mocking derision of your audience’s understanding of Revelation. I don’t wear a tin foil hat. I don’t like to be made fun of. You don’t need to preface an otherwise good teaching with ridicule.
