Revelation: Save the Date
Today we are going to set some dates!!! But not the dates you may be thinking of; rather than predicting a future tribulation date, we are going to discuss the two probable dates for the composition of Revelation and why these dates are so significant. If we really want to understand the function and purpose of the apocalyptic letter to seven real congregations in Asia Minor, I would propose that we need to try to understand what they were struggling with. By estimating the composition date, we can better understand what these early believers were facing.
John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Messiah Yeshua the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen
